How Roosevelt Spent the
Bail-Out Money in 1937!
This is Timberline Lodge in Northern Oregon. It seems fitting to take a look at it today, as it was built during the depression as a WPA project to create jobs. Today millions of people every year still enjoy this National Historic Landmark. Those bail-out dollars have had a lasting impact!
The Lodge in the photo above is buried under 25 feet of snow! I love exploring old hotels and I'd like to show you some of them. Take a free on-line tour of Timberline Lodge with me. The craftsmanship and art make Timberline Lodge one of a kind.

Quick Review: Recommended. This book provides a good background on irrigation, and will help you decide if an irrigation system will be of benefit for you. This would be an excellent book for someone planning to hire a contractor to install an irrigation system. It will provide you with what you need to know to evaluate the contractor's proposal and work. See full review.
Los Angeles Residents:
Is your shower not working Monday and Thursday AM? To conserve water Los Angeles is limiting yard watering to 2 days a week. The same two days for everyone! In theory, this could cause some massive water pressure problems if everyone turned on their sprinklers at the same time. So has it? If you live in the LADWP district how's your shower working on Monday and Thursday mornings? Please send me an email and let me know. This should be interesting!
Go back in time!
The photo below is of the Oregon Caves Chateau. It's one-of-a-kind, and one of my favorites. Built in 1934, it is essentially unchanged since it was built. The exterior is shingled with tree bark. A real creek flows through the dining room. Even the furniture is still original! Please click on the photo and join me for a free mini-vacation without leaving your desk:
